Immersion Spanish

Prior Lake - Savage Area Schools (PLSAS) offers a uniquely designed Spanish Immersion Program for Twin Oaks and Hidden Oaks students in grades 6-8.  This specialized program allows students to continue developing their Spanish language acquisition skills and also provides core academic content standards in the Spanish language.  After students leave La ola del lago Spanish Immersion School in fifth grade they are able to take two courses which continue to fully immerse them in Spanish.

As participants in the Spanish Immersion Middle School Program, students are enrolled in a specialized social studies and Spanish language arts course in grades 6, 7 and 8.  

For the 2022-23 school year, the inaugural cohort of immersion students are in 8th grade.  PLSAS is currently engaged in studying best practices related to dual language immersion programming at the high school level and is committed to continuing to provide a Spanish immersion experience for those interested students, as they begin at Prior Lake High School in September of 2023.
